Breathing exercises have been found to be very helpful in losing weight, stress management and improving and maintaining overall health. At HWP, we use various breathing techniques which can be done sitting on a chair, sitting cross legged or lying down on the floor or bed. We use yoga breathing exercises, termed Pranayama, to help you deal with chronic illnesses like high blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes. Breathing helps in stress reduction. Taking a few deep breaths when you are stressed will relax you and prepare you for the coming pressure. If you don’t have time to do other kinds of exercise, just doing the breathing exercises will give you the benefits of other forms of exercise.
